$10 check!
I received a $10 check in the mail from MySurvey. I will get around to depositing it. I plan on adding it to my emergency fund since it could really use a boost. I’m also waiting on a second $10 check. I will have to wait to order any additional checks until after I move (I don’t have enough points anyway), so I don’t have to wait even longer while the check is forwarded to my new address!

FREE EVERYTHING!
This is a sponsored post.
VistaPrint is having a Special Sale. Right now, VisaPrint has free everything! You could order a free t-shirt with a picture of your puppy. There are also one month free for a custom website. Since I’m moving, 140 free address labels with my new address would be convenient. Or I could order a free self-inking rubber stamp with my new address. I would have to pass on creating business cards (even though the business card holder is really cute); as well as the business…
General Graduate School Budget
Before I found an apartment, I created a sample budget for the next year. Unfortunately, I was unable to find an apartment and utilities for under $600. I plan on shopping for cheaper car insurance and paying the full amount in August. This will give me $100 of breathing room in my budget.
Rent $625
Electric $100
Internet $30
Food $150
Fun/Misc/Laundry $50
Gas $45
Savings $0
With this budget, I will be unable to save any money. Therefore, I created a goal budget, which I hope to be…
How I Save Money at CVS: July 29
Welcome to How I Save Money. I am on a quest to see how much stuff I can get from CVS without spending any extra money out of my pocket.
Today I forgot to use my ECB gift card and I ended up spending money out of pocket. I got an item that cost $19.99 …
Dividend Stocks In the News: July 31, 2008
All in a matter of weeks we have gone from “the sky is falling” to dropping gas prices. People weren’t happy before and they are not happy now. Is change and misery the only constants left in the world? Not from where I am sitting. Each week there is a steady stream of companies raising their dividends. Below are several select companies that recently announced dividend increases:
Kimco Realty (KIM) Raises Qtr. Dividend 10% to $0.44/Share
US Steel (X) Increases Qtr. Dividend 20% to…
A Cheaper Way to Diet - Part I
It turns out that you don’t need to fork over tons of money just to get skinny! It’s mostly about making yourself have a conscience about what you’re eating.
According to the Chicago Tribune, a study showed that people that kept foo…
Big Spender!
Yesterday, I went a little crazy with my spending. I thought I would come clean on my blog.
Christmas gift for my boyfriend. I know it’s early. However, he wanted the vase, but has spent a little bit too much recently on stereo equipment (like a lot of money). I had a coupon (15% off), and I can afford the vase now. I usually can’t think of a good gift, so I’m all ready for Christmas. COST=$55New Running Shoes. I needed new running shoes, and I have room in my clothing budget. However,…
September Budget
My budget for September is going to be a little unusual because I only have to pay 1/2 of my rent (move-in special). I will not be paid during the month of September, so this money will come exclusively from my moving fund.
Rent $312.50
Electric $100
Food $150
Fun $100
Gas $50
Laundry $10
Internet $30
Total=$752.50
With my moving fund at $1,220.81, I should have enough money to cover my September expenses and $150 from August.http://feeds.feedburner.com/SavingForAHomeOfMyOwn
Coworker got LASIK
I got LASIK last year and I was talking to a coworker about it. Well she wanted to do it and was energized by my experiences and she decided to get it too. I guess the doctor should give me a finder’s fee for getting him a new client.
She had her…
