Another MySurvey Check

I received a $10 check from MySurvey in the mail yesterday. Since the checks take so long to come (a few weeks), I’ve totally forgotten that I even ordered it! Since I received a $20 check on Monday, I’m really surprised that I received another one! I will deposit this check into my savings accounts too (probably Emergency or Moving Fund).

If you’re interested in signing up for MySurvey, I would appreciate if you used my referral link. …

July Goals

July is going to be a busy month for me. I’m going to be working a lot at my second job (two days a week). I also have to start packing for my move and getting rid of unneeded (or large) items.

Have $4,000 in my down payment account. I need to add an additional $353.13 to reach my new years resolution.Add $400 to my emergency fund. My emergency fund is currently at $1,835.65. In July (if I don’t have any emergencies), I would bring my emergency fund over $2,000 for the first time ever! …

Stock Analysis Update

To preserve the comparability, I do not like to make a lot of changes to my stock analysis template. However, I have identified a couple that I have considered and determined that they are worthy of being made. They are as follows:

Graham Number: In calculating the Graham Number I have traditionally used a trailing twelve months (TTM) EPS. it was suggested by some that I move to a trailing 36 months to mitigate the effect of any unusual item (positive or negative) over the last 12 months. A…

An Update on the Little Big Move

I’m moving out of my apartment. This weekend. I’m kind of unhappy about it. But deep down, and not-so deep down, I know it’s for the best. Spending about $1300 a month on rent, even with utilities included, even with a job that pays me enough where it’s possible, makes no sense at all.

What I need to do is save up for a house. Saving up for a house in this area requires a lot of sacrifice. It might even be logistically impossible. But I want to try.

Next month I’m cutting my “room” costs…

Did I accomplish my June Goals?

At the beginning of June, I set out to reach a few goals. Let’s see how I did.$200 into my Emergency Fun–Nope! I deposited $50 because I used the rest to pay off my car loan. I will budget $400 to add to my Emergency Fund in July. $200 in my down payment account–YES!!!!! I added $369.04 to my down payment account this month. The money was a combination of second pay check earnings, PPP, Fatwallet, and interest.$200 into my moving fund–YES! I added $475.78. I added $270 from my…

The Economy is in The Pooper

Driving home after I picked up lunch late this morning, I was listening to right-wing talk radio, which I do often these days, and the host was bitching about how we need to use our own resources for oil since our avoidance of this is causing lots of commercial establishments to go out of business.

Here’s the big news about 36 retail stores closing their doors…

“Information technology related companies that are closing stores include CompUSA going out of business, Sprint Nextel closing…

More presents!

I received more gifts yesterday! Most of the items were clothes, which I desperately needed. I received a pair of navy Bermuda shorts (shown below) and a pair of khaki capris. I also received two pairs of shoes! :) My mom bought a few things at Bath and Body Works and received a free C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Balm Stick which she gave to me.

I really like my J.Crew capris and I’m considering purchasing a second pair. Since I’m moving to warmer climate, it would be nice to have a few more pairs…
